I am going to go short on the descriptions. Prepare for a heavy load of pictures!!!
Usually the Chinese New Year is spent entirely in Penang, but of course every year got a little different recently. Went to a few places and it was very tiring (from all the travelling).
Malacca > Kuala Lumpur > Kuala Kangsar > Penang > Sungai Petani > Penang > Kuala Lumpur

From this picture you can conclude 2 things.
Number one, I am Chinese (which makes me an Asian)
Number two, I am Buddhist (and we love burning things)

Prayers done before the reunion lunch

Things I know very little about, protocols and procedures of prayers.

HELL BANK NOTE!

What a beautiful family !!! Thank you for sharing this part of your life. May I ask what is the significance of burning the notes? And those coconut jellyfish, do you eat them? *smiles*
Nice blog you have in here! (:
well its like burning money for the ancestors to use in their afterlife.
as creepy as it sounds this is what most Chinese believe.
and yes. we eat the coconut jelly. it is not a tradition or whatsoever... it is just a coconut flavoured jelly we ate over the new years
